Bunions

Bunions are one of the most common forefoot deformities. A displacement of the bone under the 1st toe occurs. This causes the big toe to move towards the smaller toes. This shifting of the bones causes a bony prominence on the side of the patients foot (the bunion joint). Over a period of time the big toe may come to rest under (occasionally over) the 2nd toe. A Bunion is more common in women then man due to the fact that women tend to wear tighter shoes.

This condition can cause a variety of different soft tissue and bone complaints which may result in severe pain. Conditions such as corns, hard skin, arthritis, bursitis and ingrown toenails can occur. Poor fitting footwear and genetic factors can lead to bunions. The most common cause is abnormal foot function, excessive pronation. If a chiropodist uses this term he is referring to excessive rolling in of the foot at the ankle joint while you are walking. Excessive pronation can be controlled via Insoles.

Bunion Day and Night Splints

Review:

Treat your bunions while you sleep and while you walk!

Before bed, slip on our Bunion Night Splint and during the day use the Bunion Day Splint. Overnight, tight tendons and toe muscles stretch. Podiatrists recommend this for patients who don't want painful, costly bunion surgery. Washable. Adjustable with Velcro. Not recommended for those with diabetes.

Customer Review

"Hi there,

I just wanted to say thanks for sending me the bunion night splints. In my recent enquiry as to whether the night splints would rub on the bunion and cause it to enlarge, I am happy to say that this has not been the case. I have only been using the night splints for about 4 nights now but I think, and I don't think it's wishful thinking, I can see an improvement even though my bunions were quite small to start with. Anyway, I'm really happy and glad I purchased these, plus I wanted to say thanks for being the only website to provide an alternative to bunion surgery. The rest of the websites say that you either leave the bunions or have painful surgery but only in severe cases so I was worried about my unsightly bunions at such a young age but you have provided a solution that seems to work. I will keep you posted about the improvements, keep up the good work."
